As the youngest member of an entrepreneurial family with three sisters, his father had a bakery in The Hague, Netherlands, so it was in his genes from a young age to work with food products. After completing a trade education and doing an internship for a year in Switzerland, he took over his parents’ business at the age of 22, along with his wife, and expanded it with multiple branches. As one of the first patisseries in the Netherlands to make American children’s cakes, he often visited the USA and introduced this trend, especially with licensed cakes such as Sesame Street, Teletubbies, Power Rangers, etc., particularly in the Benelux and Germany through the company My Kits. In 1998, he also started producing edible cake decorations in Romania, which grew to over 100 employees, and he sold the business in 2008. Afterwards, he was involved in various management activities in different companies, such as a candy factory and chocolate processing businesses in the luxury segment. To this day, he has always been involved in the food industry, doing a lot of consultancy and trading raw materials from, among others, Eastern Europe and currently mainly from Turkey, with the company Cake Lovers.
